The library offers students the advantage of the Accelerated Reader Program, which is a computer-based reading instruction service. A student first reads a book then logs onto the accelerated reader testing site. After completing the online test, the pupil’s performance is analyzed, and results are sent to both the student and instructor—along with specific areas where the student needs improvement or coaching.
“We appreciate MonCre and their dedication. They’ve brought us up-to-date. Now we can think about future improvements and grow the system,” she added. “Think more computers!”
Barbara Strickland came to SMCA after her retirement from the Montgomery County Library-Ramer Branch. She is a graduate of Troy State University. Under her leadership the library provides services to the school’s 200 students in grades Pre-K to the 12th Grade.
