Greetings:
It doesn't seem like its been a year since I became General Manager of MonCre. It
has really been fast-paced, and summer looks as though it will be just as busy. Our
company slogan "Local People-Global Service" says it all, and we continue to search for
improved ways to bring you quality services at reasonable prices.
Planning for the future takes time and resources, but we continue to be forward
thinking in all areas. One example is the approaching hurricane season. Hopefully,
we won't have such an experience again; but we have already taken extra measures
to minimize outages that might occur in our service area. Be assured we are as well
prepared as possible if bad weather comes our way.
The Co-op's annual meeting held on Tuesday, April llth, was a testament to the
appreciation and interest of MonCre Co-op members. The attendance was terrific,
with an almost "standing room only" capacity Everyone was attentive and genuinely
interested in the Co-op's membership meeting and the business overview presentation.
We appreciate the many positive comments expressed; not only did they reflect well
on our stewardship, but also gave encouragement toward our progress.
I would also like to thank the employees at MonCre along with the professional
consultants and the Board of Trustees for the support they have given me this past
year. Without them, my job would be impossible.
MonCre is one of only three member-owned telephone cooperatives in Alabama, and
I can't say enough about the pride I have in working for a company such as ours. In
fact, I can't think of any other place I would like to be.
