You Could be Switched Without Knowing
One of the "least appreciated surprises" of living in today's modern and fast moving world of electronic, wired and wireless devices is to discover that you are "not doing business" with the folks you "want to do business with".
You might ask "How can this happen? Don't I have to give my permission about being switched from one company to another?" Yes. But that does not mean that unscrupulous individuals or companies won't switch you without asking because it is to their advantage to gain another customer. You could end up paying a totally unknown company for your carrier services.
There is a way to prevent this from happening, and MonCre provides it to you free of charge — even if the carrier you have chosen is not a MonCre affiliated company. It is called PCF, for Preferred Carrier Freeze. If you utilize any of the services listed below, regardless of the company providing them, you can ask MonCre to "freeze" your account to prevent someone from illegally switching you without your permission. As
long as the "freeze" is on, no one (even MonCre) can switch you away from your chosen provider.
Services:
• InterLata/interstate long distance carrier
• IntraLATA/Intrastate long distance carrier
• InterLATA/intrastate long distance carrier
If you wish to switch, you may:
(a) Provide MonCre with your written and signed authorization:
or
(b) Verbally, by a 3-way call between you, your new selection and MonCre
If you choose to make a change, MonCre will confirm your intent and your identity verifying your date of birth or social security number, just to be sure. We'll check to be sure that your preferred carrier selection complies with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) carrier rules.
If you have questions about "switching," call MonCre at (334)562-3242.
It pays to be sure.
