Growing up in a small town is a part of my life I will
always cherish. Our house
had one telephone set out in the hall, and it was practically a permanent
fixture. I can easily recall the
little stool adjacent to the phone, where you could sit if your call took a
while.
Being just a child, I had no way of knowing then how
the world of communications was about to change.
After World War II, rural America saw technology could
come their way. Landowners and
farmers knew, through cooperative effort, they could bring utilities to
their areas with applications for government grants and low interest loans.
Country folks finally gained access to commercial powerk city water
and telecommunications. It
happened here, and we owe many thanks to those innovative pioneers who
worked to create the MonCre Telephone Cooperative.
Technology today is growing at such a rapid pace.
It is a challenge to provide these services in the rural market to
meet the needs of the customer, but being a member owned cooperative such as
ours, and having the support of the community makes it all worthwhile.
Our goal here at MonCre is to be a full service ready
provider. Simply “just
telephone” is of the past, and today it becomes our job to make phone
technology available if and when you need it.
Our latest offering to our customers will be cellular
phone service. We are excited
about this new service and we hope that you will be, too.
As of February 1, 2007, we became fully compliant with our
deregulation process. That means
we will be able to bundle more services and reduce rates-once again, to save
you money! Watch for more
information in March to learn more.
Good things happen here at MonCre.
We have an excellent staff that is always ready and dedicated to
getting the job done. It is a
pleasure to work with dedicated people.
And, as always, thank you for allowing me to serve you as your
General Manager.
Sincerely,
