When working on an antique car in their shop – it could take months to refurbish.  They do everything but painting and interior work.  However, Ken’s brother and nephew both professionally paint cars.

Ken says his toughest restoration job has produced his favorite “The Chief”.  He says it is the 1932 Pontiac, to which has been added leather interior, air conditioning and all the trimmings.  Painted in a commanding high-gloss red, the car looks and smells as if it rolled out of an exotic GM dream assembly line.  Every nut and bolt is amalgamated with the care and polish that mirrors the attention of a perfectionist.

Featured in several car publications, the 1932 Pontiac was also chosen to be on the AC Delco calendar.  One of 12, the Pontiac was chosen from 1,500 entrants.  Making four of five major car shows each year, the McGoughs enjoy showing the Pontiac or one of their other beauties.  It also allows them the opportunity to look for other potential classics.

Their current project is a 1963 Impala.  A customer bought the vehicle on eBay and wants it to be “modernized” and road-worthy.  “When restored, it will be worth at least twice what the customer originally paid,” Ken says.

The work at Ken’s Service Center produces extraordinary transformations.  According to Ken McGough, “Bringing things back to usefulness and life after everyone else gave up – now that’s something.
