Accepting the position as General Manager of MonCre was a serious decision, and one
I gave considerable thought and consideration. I reflected on when I first came to work
here in 1977, filling in as a customer service representative for the first 10 months before
I moved into construction, cable splicing, phone installations and repair. I became the
purchasing agent and service order coordinator, then inside plant supervisor, work
ing primarily in engineering operations. Later, I was named central office manager for
MonCre.
I thought about these past 28 years, and how far MonCre has come. I have not only
witnessed the rapid forward motion of the communications industry, but I have also been
privileged to be part of a company that has brought modern, up to date phone services
home and available for every MonCre cooperative member.
I appreciate being part of an industry that has allowed us the capability to provide mile
after mile of fiber optics and the latest technology for our rural customers. We take for
granted clarity of reception with high speed Internet allowing our co-op members the
ability to communicate anywhere in the world at any time.
The foundation for that progress has come through the hard work and diligence of
MonCre employees, who, without their support, I would have never considered this position. Most of us have worked together for years, and there lies a true team spirit.
A cooperative is defined as 'an enterprise or organization owned by and operated for
the benefit of those using its services.' That's what MonCre Telephone Cooperative is all
about...working together in a spirit of cooperation for the good of all.
Thank you for your encouragement and support. I look forward to working with you and
for you in the years ahead.
Sincerely, |
