Windows 2000 Professional

Step 1:

Click on Start > Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections, and you should see your Dial-up connection listed.

Step 2:

You should see an icon in the Dialup Networking window that represents your icon that you would use to connect to Mon-Cre (we have called ours “Mon-Cre-Dial” for instance).  Right click on that icon to bring up the context menu, and then click on properties.

Step 3:

After the properties window comes up, click on the “Networking” tab and you should then see a window that looks the similar as the window located below.  The only option that should have a check mark here is “Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)”.  Highlight this option and click “Properties” to view the TCP/IP options.

Step 4:

Here you will verify that “Obtain IP address automatically” and “Obtain DNS server address automatically” are both checked.  If they are, click ok, because you are done.

The last thing you will want to check is located under your account settings in whichever mail client program you are using.  Under your setting for “Incoming [POP3]” and “Outgoing [SMTP]” addresses, make sure they are set to “mail.mon-cre.net” in both fields!
